Beekeeping Tips for December

1. Don’t disturb bees, but check to make sure that bees have enough honey stores and feed if necessary. At lease lift the back of the hive. If it feels light, feed sugar syrup.

2. Check stored frames with drawn comb to make sure moth crystals (paradichlorobenzene) to protect against wax moths has not evaporated. Assemble and paint new hive bodies. Assemble new frames.

3. Clean away old drones ejected from the hive.
